Blizzard 30th Anniversary: Warcraft Direct

As Lead Designer for Warcraft Direct, a global livestream celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Warcraft franchise, I created all marketing and promotional materials, including social assets, email graphics, thumbnails, and a complete livestream graphics package, featuring lower thirds, transitions, and animated overlays.

I audited previous livestream graphics packages to identify workflow issues and redesigned key assets to make real-time edits faster and more intuitive for the broadcast team. These updates reduced last-minute production stress and ensured stronger visual consistency across promotional and live content, resulting in a smoother, more efficient broadcast process.

The event achieved over 1.9 million live views, a peak of 343k+ concurrent viewers, 679k+ total hours watched, and brought in 110k+ new followers, one of Blizzard's most successful broadcasts.

Animated Assets

For Warcraft Direct, I designed custom lower thirds, transitions, and overlays to support the livestream broadcast. I began by creating style frames and detailed storyboards to establish the visual direction, then collaborated with motion vendors by providing feedback and creative guidance throughout the production process. The following examples showcase the final broadcast graphics I led and designed.

Gamescom: Creator Clash

I also had the opportunity to create branding for Blizzard's Creator Clash event at Gamescon, designing the official World of Warcraft Creator Clash logo and developed a full suite of broadcast and marketing assets, including thumbnails, overlays, and social graphics. The event featured three mini-showcases highlighting distinct game modes, Housing, Dungeons, and Arenas, each with its own color theme to differentiate the segments while maintaining a unified brand system across all broadcasts.

Working with Blizzard's prdocution team, I also designed the on-screen graphics that powered the live stage experience, bringing the Creator Clash identity to life across massive LED displays. These designs united the in-person arena and global livestream into one cohesive visual story.

The events collectively reached 400K+ live viewers and 450K+ total replays, marking one of Warcraft’s most watched Gamescom showcases.
